Add To Your Product
This is called Add To Your Product. In 2011, we were selling an authority website for about $13,500. It came with our company’s shelling out a website, physically doing the design, the homework, the study the SWOT, sizing up an industry. We would partner with an authority figure. They would write all the content based on the keyword silo we built and we would split the revenue 50/50. Two years later we were selling the same exact website, an authority website, where we did everything the same plus a couple of other small nuggets. We were charging $39,000 instead of $13,500. How were we able to triple what we were charging for almost virtually the same thing? The answer is simple. We added to our product.Add to your products and make it better. Click To Tweet
In 2011, we interviewed all the people we were doing authority sites with. We said, “After you started this authority site, what else did you purchase from other companies?” They said, “We did hire another company to do our social media. We hired a company to build a directory for us. We hired companies to add filler content. We hired companies to come up with products that we could sell on our authority site.” We were finding that some of these people, after giving us $13,000, were spending another $30,000 to $50,000. One person even did a $100,000. We said, “The person who spent all this money is now managing five different companies.
Can’t we offer these same services, save them time, and definitely save money?” We can. What we did is we add to our product. We added social platforms, directories, filler content, products, and away we went. We were able to sell a lot more authority sites at $39,000 than we ever sold at $13,500. Here’s the question for you. What are you selling? What else does your customer purchase within six months of buying your product? What else do they buy? Can you stock, supply, and service those exact same products but labeled under your company? What else can you add to your current product to make it a better product? I hope this helps. Take care.
